We pride ourselves on the flexibility that we afford our clients in our ability to work within the constraints of any ecosystem. We think though this is a given for any successful modern digital production company.
Where we believe we offer a competitive advantage to our clients is our incorporation of the following core principles.
Invention
We like playing with new technologies, and doing things others haven't done before. We love working with people that want to push the boundaries of what is digitally possible.
That's why if you have an idea you'd like us to produce, if we think it will work but don't know because it hasn't been done before, we won't factor in the cost to prove either way.
We don't want budget to prevent awesomeness from entering the world, and anyhow, it isn't work, it's fun. That's why we'll never take a job based on a costing against day rate. We'll only take jobs because we are as passionate about delivering the best result on that job as you are.
We cost against overall appetite to deliver. Novel? We think so. Consider it another type of "invention" of ours.
Intuition
One of the reasons we started Half Cyborg was to push technology in ways we didn't get the regular opportunity to do in the larger agencies we come from, what with their wider spectrum of everyday remits.
We are truly passionate about technology, and it's place alongside more traditional forms of creativity.
That being said, we aren't evangelists, and nor do we want to be.
We believe technology should be intuitable, implemented to benefit the user experience rather than act against it. Our greatest successes are when the use of technology is innovative, yet implemented such that users aren't distracted with what's 'under the hood'. It just works.
Intelligence
We work with some of the most intelligent people around, and we don't believe there's any excuse for the business systems we use to deliver and assure your projects to be any less so.
That's why, we run our projects from start to finish in JIRA Studio. From establishing the technical roadmap, recording and monitoring development progress, managing source, continuously integrating across server environments, and tracking issues and feedback from our testers, we revel in knowing the burn-down of our projects on-the-go and the organisation this suite of development tools brings. (Thanks Atlassian!)
It's not just about JIRA though. Selenium automated browser testing in the cloud, anyone?
Nothing pleases us more than when a client wants to talk turkey about the internal systems we use, but in case you just want something done reliably first time, be assured your reputation will be protected by a proven and intelligent technical delivery process.
